Plastidom was founded in 1959 by seven friends who got together at a time when plastic was still a recent phenomenon in Portugal and where there were already a number of companies producing products with this promising raw material.

At a time when the company’s founders were no longer involved, 1964 saw the introduction of a new partner and manager. His name was Ilídio Rufino and he was responsible for implementing a philosophy of developing new models based on the use of advanced technology materials and the inspiration of modern design. 

The Domplex brand was registered in 1967 under the No 135.983. The success of the new products in different sectors of industry led to the gradual and sustained growth of the Domplex brand, a brand which motivates us to continuously create new solutions to keep it at the forefront of development.

Plastidom has always successfully accompanied the growing demand and challenges placed by both the domestic and international markets. Our performance can be explained:

- by the quality, ease of use and relevance of the products placed on the market and the additional services created;
- by greater availability and proximity to our clients; 
- and by the improvement of technologies which has always required ongoing and substantial investment. 

Multiple items are available in the Domplex range which are grouped into three specific areas:

- items for domestic use;
- items for use in industry, agriculture, fisheries and logistics;
- Pallets and Container-Pallets for general use

We have some subtle distinctions:

- Domplex AS for crystalline products
- Domplex LR for medium-sized products
- Domplex ITC for large size products

For customers not requiring such high levels of technical precision and durability, Plastidom also has the Reciplex Brand. Products under this brand name are made with recycled materials from the rejected items we produce with virgin raw materials, contributing to the pursuit of an environmentally friendly policy.

The Domplex brand maintains the concept of manufacturing container-pallets Domplex with high quality virgin materials from the best sources of supply and generically called polypropylene. In 2019, we registered the Mudplex brand so that container-pallets could be manufactured with high-density polyethylene, for very particular, meeting the wishes of some customers.

We also produce Larplex brand products with low intensity materials that allow the production of soft products wich react to pressure, with a markedly domestic vocation.

In 2005, we founded the company Domplex Logis with the goal of allowing clients to lease Domplex products, providing boxes and pallets from our factory to customers, which are cleaned at our Barosa unit.
